Prepare For Your Visit

Before You Arrive


Packages and material shipped to the Lear Career Center and MSU are organized by event type. See below:

  • Career fairs: Your Handshake registration page will provide specific shipping instructions depending on the career fair, location, and event organizer.
  • On-campus events: We will hold packages temporarily in the Lear Center for your on-campus event. Please note, we have limited storage space and will only hold your materials until your scheduled event. If you have a heavy or irregular shipment or multiple packages being sent, contact the Lear Center prior to shipping. All materials should be addressed to:

The Lear Center is located in Owen Graduate Hall 735, E Shaw Ln, East Lansing, MI 48825.


The Lear Center validates parking for the Wharton Center parking ramp, ramp 3. Parking at the Wharton Center ramp is a 5-7 minute walk from the Lear Center. You may also choose to park in the Shaw parking ramp, ramp 1, where metered parking is available. Shaw Ramp is located directly across from the Lear Center on Shaw Lane. Metered spaces are $1.50 per hour.

As we are now located in Owen Graduate Hall, Room 114, please refer to these maps for help in finding our new location.

Plan Ahead

Requests for interviews, sessions, tables, and practice interview spaces start as early as May, which can result in our space reaching capacity quickly. Please consider the off-site options below in order to maintain your requested date.

Checking In

We suggest you arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to your first scheduled interview or event and check in at the Lear Center front desk.

Business Cards

When checking in for an interview at the Lear Center, please have a business card with you. We utilize your business card upon request, to provide information to students who had interviews with you. Students can then follow up with you for further questions/comments and to send a thank you letter.


If you utilized Handshake to build your interview schedule, we will provide copies to you upon checking in. If you built your schedule outside of Handshake, you will need to provide us a copy for our records.

During Your Stay

Recruiter’s Lounge

The Recruiter’s Lounge located in the Lear Center is available to you during your stay. It provides a place for you to purchase snacks and beverages, eat lunch, and store refrigerated items. Please note, the Recruiter’s Lounge is a public break room available to all staff and employers.

Ordering Food

Recruiters participating in practice interviews will have lunch provided by the Lear Center. For all other interview schedules, up-to-date local delivery menus can be found in each interview room. There are also a number of on-campus options close to the Broad College:

There is no need for a dining plan when visiting residential dining locations. All locations are open to the public and accept cash, Spartan Cash, and credit cards.

Checking Out

Before leaving the Lear Center, please stop by the front desk. We will be able to validate your parking, assist with shipping, and process any no-shows.


We will validate your parking for you if you parked in the Wharton Center parking ramp, ramp 3. Please bring your ticket to the front desk.

Return Shipping

If you would like to ship items, please contact a carrier of your choice and schedule a time for the carrier to pick up the package from the Lear Career Services Center, located at:

Please inform us of any student who did not show up for a scheduled on-campus interview in the Lear Center. We will follow up with the student and begin our Late Cancellation and No-Show Policy & Process. This excludes ‘Room Only’ schedules.
